Willow Tree Figures

Artist Susan Lordi hand carves each original willow tree figure, and using family and friends as models, Susan tries to capture a moment in time or express a special feeling. She began carving models in 2003, and due to the care which each individual willow tree figurine is carved and painted with, the line successfully encompasses those sentiments that we all hold dear to our hearts.

Each figurine is individually painted by hand using soft colours and metal accents, giving it a unique appearance which has now become associated with Susan’s iconic work. When you look upon Susan’s work you’ll soon come to realise that the original inspiration for Willow Tree which centred on creating an intimate, personal line of figurative sculptures representing qualities and sentiments which help us feel close to other, heal wounds and treasure relationships is still very much alive in her latest work.
